Medical Impressions
An MI is a rapid review of brief medical documentation and correspondence that provides comments from medical professionals at the Medical Advisor level regarding working or possible diagnoses.
The document also contains brief and non-binding comments as to causation / work-related aspects of the illness / mechanism of injury and a possible maximum medical improvement date. The MI includes basic details as to any possible medical red flags or other issues with the patient.
Peer-Review
The PR provides a comprehensive review of all medical literature made available. It answers specific client-based questions and addresses causation more specifically than a Medical Impression, based on medical evidence.
The PR comments on the medical treatment plan as well as the maximum medical improvement and return to work dates. The document concludes with an overall expert medical opinion.
